I'm his level near 30 character.
I'm not saying Aion is a bad game, just... I had two games on my Steam list next to each other - Aion and Borderlands. I thought, which one interests me more.... I clicked on Borderlands.
I'll come back to Aion when they fix numerous problems. For example, RMT and bots.

Aion turned out to be just another deadborn.. Everything went fine, until there were no more quests, 16 hour cooldown is on the bosses, so to level more, you need to - grind. Want to upgrade your wings - no problemo, just fork out 945632 kinah`s and you`re set... So, more grind then, since through normal playing i`ve amased around 20k kinah`s? Made it to Abyss? Yay! But, pug`s wont take you, so unless you are in a super-organized guild, forget about it. For a game "where grinding should be minimal", Aion is a biiiiiiiiig disappointment. For pete`s sake, why do i have 2 minutes flying cooldown, when it says on the box "freedom, flying and exciting airborne combat without limit"?????? As i was arguing with some fellow, he said to me at some point: "lol nub, get back to WoW lulz this is a hardcore game, not some kiddie crap.." Who knows, maybe he`s right.. maybe suffering, repetition and sweat grind do have an actual point that separates casual from hardcore player?

20k kinah?
By the time I was 25, I had almost 500k on my Spiritmaster. But now I'm around 300k...
Still, I was too bored with grinding. Ragnarok Online has fun grind. Diablo 2 has fun grind. Borderlands has.... more quests than Aion and levels faster. And is more fun.

Oh, and either NCWest is starting to panic or starting to listen the players.
Quote:
Character progression is a complicated matter. Look at the famous board game, Monopoly. If each player started the game with twice the amount of money or a set of properties already owned, the challenge would be reduced, and ultimately the game would not be as enjoyable. However, the game would not run for as long, and you would more quickly get to the point where you manage the red hotels, which-let's face it-is good fun.
We want Aion to be as enjoyable as we can make it. We realize that the rate of progression is a little bit too slow in certain areas of the game right now, and we recognize that there are things that can be done to improve that. We want players to be able to reach the Abyss in a timely manner so that they can go head-to-head with the opposing faction, but we also want them to enjoy the game's lore and reach immersion in the world of Atreia. The golden middle road is the one we are aiming for. The recently posted Aion 1.5.1 patch notes highlighted a few imminent actions we are taking to increase the speed of progression:
* We are increasing the experience reward of a lot of quests. Many of these are in the level 15?30 range.
* We are increasing the experience gained from gathering and crafting.
* We are slightly reducing the experience penalty applied due to the difference in levels of group members when a character is in a group or raid alliance.
As we move forward, we have more plans to not only include more quest experience boosts for the higher levels, but also infuse the game with a flow of new content and new mechanics that ensure that gameplay is fun and entertaining.

I'd rather see something done about the praying to the RNG gods for... everything. Specifically in regards to crafting.

So my sub renewed itself for another month. Decided to play SM, and I gotta say, it's hilariously broken. Can't wait to hit 25.

Increasing the exp reward in the 15-30 level range?
That's not enough.

I'm suffering massively with the crysystem.dll crash that seems to affect players in populated areas running the game on decent pcs. My legion is starting to fight over fortresses in the Abyss, but the longest I can be there is around 15 minutes before my client crashes to oblivion. Same with crafting - I get about 30 mins. All in all it sucks, and I'm paying for the privilege. The only way to avoid it is to turn down the graphics settings to bare minimum. ><

I'm getting this too, particularly in Pandemonium around the Hall of Gold (or whatever it's called). It forces me to have to Shift + F12 in Pandemonium to prevent the client from crashing from a CrySystem.dll error. From what I understand, this (or, as you suggested, turning all settings to the lowest) is the only way to prevent this issue until a patch is released to fix the problem. Supposedly it has something to do with CrySystem.dll not being able to use >2GB of memory. However, I did just find this and was going to give it a try when I get home this afternoon:

Uhm. NCWest increases 15-30. NCSoft increases 35-40+.
I find that good. Still, I'll wait for 1.5.1 to see if I should renew the sub.
